Two years in a row, I’ve had the pleasure to partner with Epic Gatherings to bring my students to this marvelous land. I’ll never forget the first time I walked through the gates of the Villa through an archway of trees. My jaw dropped and I was filled with joyful awe: the reality of the setting completely surpassed the beautiful pictures I had seen. And my pleasure in the location only grew as I tasted our first sumptuous meal, as I met the staff, saw the rooms, and explored the grounds.
The estate is an amazing setting and Epic Gatherings was the liaison to unlock its wonders. The Villa belongs to a noble Florentine family dedicated to restoring it to its original glorious state after it was occupied by Germans during WWII. Between the rolling hills, wild white peacocks strolling free on the grounds, olive groves, vineyards, forest, and the air of Florentine history, it is a remarkable setting. One of the many aspects of what makes these experiences so unique is that Graseilah (Founder and Host) is related to the family who owns the Villa—so we are treated not as tourists, but as honored personal guests.

“The villa is the Ideal setting/venue. Inspiring, connected to the earth, comfortable, and steep in history. How delightful to be surrounded by the estate’s creatures: Kenny, the most congenial dog on the planet, the ever-vocal peacocks, the farm cats, the floating butterflies, and the choir of birds.”
~ Gail Newel. Santa Cruz, California
“I had an amazing time. Being in such a majestic villa was one of the many highlights. Such a beautiful landscape: all the gardens, olive groves, vineyards and the old architecture… It really was Epic. It was so special to be in a place with so much history that still keeps ancient traditions alive for making olive oil, wine and living from the land.”
~ Clay Burns. Madrid, Spain
“It was so wonderful to start from day one feeling full of life and hope for the future. I mistakenly thought it would not be until “the end” of the retreat that I would feel the benefit. Rather, by the end my heart was as full as it has ever been. I came away with rich relationships, heartfelt revelations, and a sense of well-being I can share with the world around me.”
~ Kristin Farnum. Berkeley, California.
“The staff were extremely kind and accommodating. Graseilah is an amazing guide, who not only translated our choices at each meal, but also translated our desires to the staff and fielded any questions we had. She also had a great sense of humor.”
